Beautiful Words Part 1

For quite some time, I have wondered if words really are as poor carriers of emotion as the world accuses them to be. After all, didn’t our words, languages, stories and poems evolve as a means to articulate, express our feelings? Sometimes I wonder if it is truly possible to show to the world what we actually feel, do words hold the magic that can transform something as abstract, infinite as an emotion and capture its true essence to be conveyed to the rest of the world?

But then as if by a little miracle, in my journey through books and journals and blogs I stumble upon words so perfectly arranged that they make me pause for a moment and marvel at their astounding beauty and at least in my head that moment sort of stretches into a little infinity.

In an attempt to share this beauty with more and more people, I have put some of my favourite beautiful words from Pablo Neruda:

1. “Where does the rainbow end,
in your soul or on the horizon?”

2. “I love you as one loves certain dark things, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.”

3.  “As if you were on fire within
The moon lives in the lining of your skin.”

4. “In the eyes of mourning the land of dreams begins.”

5. “Then love knew it was called love.
And when I lifted my eyes to your name,
suddenly your heart showed me my way”
