Once upon a morning,
Sunlight as bright as Hope streamed in
And the breeze came fluttering,
Wearing the aroma of a little flower
Shyly putting on its new petals.
As I turned another corner,
Spring stood waiting and
Whispered to me,
It’s time my darling,
Why don’t you turn over a new leaf?
Lo! Twas magic woven in those words
The snow thawed bit by bit,
My withering heart bloomed
In my chest like a wild crimson rose.
Life hummed through me
And the birds sang it from
Tree to tree all over town
Like Sleeping Beauty raising from
Her slumberous death,
I was born again.
